The ascent on the
Lenin peak is one of the most easy seventhousanders which
you can ascend without special training and high-altitude
climbing experience. The Lenin peak is a gigantic
snowcovered mountain in the northern part of Pamir
(Zaalaaikiy range). Since the first ascent in 1928 a
number of climbers have used many routes of different
categories. Everyone can choose a suitable route adapted
to his technical and physical abilities.
TYPICAL ITINERARY
- days 1-2 Arrival in
Tashkent.Transfer from Tashkent to base camp of
Achik-Tash at the bottom of Lenin peak.
- day 3 Walking to the
Lenin glacier for acclimatisation. The track runs
over the Travellers pass and further 8 km. along
glacier to the right-shore moraine under Lipkin's
rock. The base camp is set up at a height of 4200
metres.
- day 4 Descent to base
camp. Rest and relax (bath,sauna),
- day 5 Uphill to the
base camp (4200 metres).
- day 6 Uphill to the
first camp (5300 metres).
- day 7 Descent to the
base camp.
- day 8 Stay in base
camp, leisure.
- day 9 Second
acclimatization walk to advanced base camp.
- day 10 Uphill to camp
at 5300 metres.
- day 11. Establish the
second storm camp at 6100 metres.
- day 12 Descent to
basic camp at 4200 m.
- day 13 Rest-day.
- day 14 Uphill to camp
at 5300 m.
- day 15 Uphill to camp
at 6100 m. (Establish the third storm camp at
6500 metres).
- day 16 Ascent of
summit (6-8 hours from 6100 metres)
- day 17 Descent to the
base camp at 4200 m.
- day 18 Break up base
camp. Return to base camp of Achik-Tash (bath,
sauna).
- day 19 Day of reserve
(Foul weather).
- day 20-21 Return to
Tashkent. 22 day Departure from Tashkent.
In addition this programme
may be prolonged by sightseeing excursions to the ancient
towns of the Great Silk Road - Samarkand,
Bukhara,Tashkent etc. (additional payment).
